The Scrolls of Middle-earth : VI. Planning Additional Scrolls Reading the Epic Tales in Original Form
VI. Planning Additional Scrolls.
Wither next after Beren and Luthien? I imagine having an extensive collection of scrolls including stories from the creation of Arda, the migration of the Elves, Numenor, Gil-galad and the Last Alliance of Men and Elves, and others. The critical element is the form of the stories from the available published works and papers of Professor Tolkien. I could even see placing The Hobbit and the three volumes of the Lord of the Rings in scroll form with the myriad of pictures available. But remember, the LOTR is over one million words in length. Scrollifying that epic will be a multi-year project!
I will proceed with the First Age stories and then work forward in time. The list for scrolls looks
like the following:
- Turin Turambar
- Earendil and Elwing
- The Making of Valinor
- The Theft of the Silmarils and the Doom of Mandos
- The Nauglamir
- Fall of Numenor and the Founding of Gondor
- Smith of Wootten Major
- The Song of Tom Bombadil
