MOON LETTERS : POETRY
Yearning - By Lyrian
She is the winter sun --
Pale and beautiful
She is all I am not --
Proud, courageous, strong
She despises me for what I am
When all I have ever wanted
Was to be with her and be worthy
My master has promised her to me
In return for the ruination
Of all that she loves
Of all I once loved
But to possess her means more to me
Than all the kingdoms of this Earth
To be in her presence, to sit at her feet
To have her look upon me
Only me -- even in disgust
Is more valuable than the entire wealth of the world
I would she would love me
She is the light
I am the dark
I hope she will illuminate me
And free me from my shadows
My corruption and filth
And be lifted far above Edoras
To bask in the sun of her smile
Mayhap when this is over
All these things shall occur
Mayhap by some strange chance of fate
I shall be found worthy
And she shall come to me of her own accord
And I shall speak my love
And summer will come to the darkest vaults of my soul
Until then I shall wait, watching and hoping
And yearning.
