MOON LETTERS : POETRY
There and Back Again - By Maria Blackrose

Setting sun, bloody shadows,
Rising moon, dark meadows.

No light, no life,
Adult with a sword, child with a knife.

Bound to hatred, blind to love,
Living in oppression, born to serve.

Dying to find peace, those left will grieve,
Lying to live, unable to leave.

Wanting hope, hiding in fear,
Keeping faith in their hearts, waiting for a saviour.

Evil ruler, dark times,
No one to trust, surrounded by crimes.

Deceit is everywhere, engulfed in lies,
Needing freedom, escape from those they despise.

Calling out, crying aloud,
Now humbled, no longer proud.

Endless rain, bitter tears,
Washed away from shore, drowning in fears.

A ray of light, a brave soul,
Courage unknown, braving demon and ghoul.

Troubles ahead of him, evil waits,
With him are friends, all aware of their fates.

To die for those they know not,
To fight the Black Lord who has only once before been fought.

When their fellowship breaks, so do their hearts,
But a bond remains between them, in truth they will never part.

Each continuing on their hard roads,
On their backs such heavy loads.

The fate of their world, the lives of all,
Everything dies should they fall.

Conquering the impossible, defeating new foes,
Will they emerge victorious? No one knows.

But one thing is for sure, through shine or rain,
They will go there and back again.
