River Daughter taps her cool fingertips
Against the glass of my window
Reminding me that she is here to do the washing.
Good Lady, come to visit after you’ve done your work.
I’m lighting the candles and setting the table.
I’ve picked water-lillies in your honor.
I’m ready for the peace you bring.

She’s here to help me forget those other days
And cleanse the road to make my path anew.
