Strider's Song

Love lies behind, a dream untried,

            A destiny long set aside.

Uncertainty my only truth,

            Plagued through childhood and through youth,

Guide my struggle, guide my plight,

            Lead me through the long dark night;

Kings of old, now hear my plea,

            Bolster the courage at the heart of me!

When the silver trumpets ring out at last,

            Let me be not troubled by my past,

Let me wield with honour, the Flame of the West,

            Let me be worthy when called to the test.

And when the long night is at last dispelled,

And the Dark Lord is finally felled,

Return to me my dearest Evenstar;

            Send her sweet grace to me from afar,

Let me find peace in her arms again,

            May love be the balm to sooth away all pain.

 - Everon
